PALEMBANG, The Indonesia Post – South Sumatra Governor H Herman Deru released the Youth Pledge Declaration expedition team at Ulak Pandan Village, West Merapi District, Lahat Regency, Wednesday (21/10).
Where the team consisting of Scout members, Nature Lovers Students, the National Police and the TNI will raise the red and white flag and read the Youth Pledge, on the top of Serelo Hill.
HD admitted that he was proud of this activity. Because it indicates that the enthusiasm of the youth in South Sumatra is still burning.
“This is proof that the enthusiasm of the youth in South Sumatra has never subsided. With the enthusiasm of these youths, of course South Sumatra will be more advanced,” said HD.
Because of that, he wanted South Sumatra youths to take part in being at the forefront of promoting the spirit of unity.
“The youth of South Sumatra must be at the forefront of promoting enthusiasm in any field. We will certainly support this spirit to continue to develop,” he said.
Not only the spirit of unity, according to him, the spirit of mutual cooperation must also be put forward. Especially during the Covid-19 outbreak as it is today. The spirit of mutual cooperation is considered to be one of the factors that can break the chain of the spread of Covid-19.
“Even though it is different, we still have to unite and work together. With that spirit, the chain of covid-19 spread can be broken. The spirit of mutual cooperation must be done in an effort to educate the application of health protocols,” he explained.
Apart from raising the flag and reading the youth pledge, the expedition also aims to promote natural tourism, especially those in South Sumatra. This is also because South Sumatra itself has a natural environment that is no less good than other regions.
“This will also be able to encourage natural tourism in South Sumatra. In addition, this will also arouse the enthusiasm of young people to protect nature. South Sumatra has extraordinary natural assets and needs to be preserved,” he said while hoping this mission would run smoothly.
