PALEMBANG, The Indonesia Post – Good news for the people of the Province of South Sumatra (Sumsel), especially for young people who have graduated from Vocational High Schools (SMK) and graduates who are interested in establishing themselves in the field of agriculture as Assistants for the Improvement of Farmers’ Economy (PPEP) or previously known as Extension Officers Field (PPL).
Early November 2020, Pemprov. South Sumatra will immediately open a recruitment registration for 1000 PPLs which the results of this selection will later be distributed in agricultural areas in South Sumatra, respectively Banyuasin Regency, Musi Banyuasin, Ogan Ilir, OKI and East OKU.
The South Sumatra Provincial Government’s efforts to revive the function of the PPL plant are not without reason, one of which is to provide correct education to farmers in agricultural centers. Mainly related to how to cultivate crops, starting from selecting seeds, fertilizing and maintaining plants properly, including in post-harvest matters.
So it is expected that farmers’ harvest yields can increase, as well as the quality of the products obtained, meeting the expected quality standards. It is also believed that the PPL record will further strengthen South Sumatra’s position as a producing region Food.
Provincial Government. South Sumatra, through the local Food Crops and Horticulture Agency (TPH), opens vacancies for Farmers’ Economic Improvement Assistants (PPEP) or PPLs with positions needed including Extension Assistants, Plant Pest Organism Control Assistants (POPT) and Plant Seed Supervisory Assistants (PBT) .
As for the requirements that must be fulfilled by prospective applicants, including Indonesian citizens (WNI), physically and mentally healthy, maximum 35 years old at the time of registration, not bound by work contracts with other agencies and institutions and domiciled in the sub-district of the Agricultural Extension Work Area (WKPP) proven by KTP and KK.
Then attach a health and drug-free certificate as evidenced by a doctor’s certificate from a government hospital, of good behavior as evidenced by a certificate of good behavior from the police, able to operate computers, own and be able to operate an android mobile phone (HP) and have a SIM C.
Meanwhile, the educational qualifications must be graduates of agricultural Vocational High Schools (SMK) for positions as Extension Assistants, Assistants for Plant Pesting Organisms (POPT) and Plant Seed Supervisory Assistants (PBT).
Graduates of S1 Agriculture from the Agronomy, Agrotechnology study program to occupy the position of Extension Assistant, Assistant to Control Plant Pesting Organisms (POPT) and Assistant to Supervise Plant Seeds (PBT).
A graduate of S1 Agriculture from the Agribusiness study program for the position being applied for the Extension Assistant and Plant Seed Supervisory Assistant (PBT).
S1 Plant Disease Pest study program for the companion position for the Control of Plant Pest Organisms (POPT) and a graduate from S1 Animal Husbandry for the position of Extension Assistant. The applicant’s domicile is in Banyuasin, Musi Banyuasin, Ogan Ilir, OKI and East OKU.
Registration is open in the first week of November 2020, through the Sriwijaya University (Unsri) website. The official announcement will be announced through the Sumeks Newspaper on November 02-04 2020.
South Sumatra Governor H. Herman Deru recently said that the recruitment of 1000 PPL personnel was considered important for the progress of the agricultural sector in South Sumatra.
“This PPL will later be very helpful in educating local farmers, so that they can carry out farming activities properly. This is also a form of our seriousness in establishing South Sumatra as a National Food Granary,” said Herman Deru. (nfl/ril)
