Jakarta, TheIndonesiaPost – An air balloon was seen flying in the sky and then fell Ahmad Yani International Airport, Semarang, Central Java.
The event was recorded flight observer Alvin Lie who then uploaded it on his Instagram account @ alvinlie21.
When confirmed, Alvin Lie confirmed the air balloon event posted on his social media account.
“It happened yesterday afternoon when I was around the airport. Luckily I was right when I brought a camera, so I immediately photographed and recorded the video,” Alvin was quoted as saying by Cable News Network Indonesia.
According to Alvin, besides being able to fly up to 40 thousand feet, air balloons that fly can not be controlled and move freely carried by the air so that it is not impossible to hit the aircraft that is flying.
“Air balloons are very dangerous for aircraft. The flight can reach heights of 40,000 feet, so flying can not be controlled and move freely carried by the wind. If it comes to planes that are flying can be fatal to many victims,” said the man who is also a member of the Ombudsman RI.
Meanwhile, communication and Legal Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) Gen. Ahmad Yani International Airport, Ahmad Danar Suryantono, confirmed the existence of the balloon.
“True, there are foreign objects in the form of air balloons that landed in the airport area on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at around 16:45 IWST and have been secured by a joint patrol officer of the Airport Security and BKO Army,” Ahmad Danar said.
“For information that on Sunday, May 24, 2020 there were no commercial flights at the General Ahmad Yani Airport in Semarang,” he added. (jekki/bbs)
