Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – President Joko Widodo and Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan inspect the construction of the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) which will be used for the Formula E racing event in Ancol, Jakarta, Monday.
“I want to see what Formula E preparation looks like and we will see in the field,” said Jokowi accompanied by Anies Baswedan in a press statement after the review in Jakarta, Monday.
Jokowi said that the circuit has been completed, while some facilities that are still in the process of being worked on are the paddock or the garage for the racer team and the grand stand.
“Then what is being chased by the paddock, the grand stand will still have time to run out of Eid. We hope that in early June we can see the race,” he added.
Meanwhile, Anies explained that the circuit infrastructure has been completed in its entirety, while those that are still in the process of being worked on are the paddock, grand stand, and fence.
“In general, the track has been completed,” said Anies.
DKI Jakarta is hosting the 2022 Formula E, which will be held at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) on June 4, 2022.
The JIEC circuit is known to be 2.4 kilometers long and 12 meters wide. The plan is that the circuit will have 18 corners with a design similar to a lumping horse with a view of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS). (ojn/bbs)
