Herman Deru is committed to fully supporting the recommendation for the construction of a Fisheries Training and Extension Center (BP3) Palembang by the Public Aquatic Fisheries Research and Fisheries Extension Center of the Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries. Besides being able to maintain the habitat of various types of fish in South Sumatra, the existence of this BP3 is also expected to improve the welfare of its residents.
According to HD, he had been listening to the matter of development for a long time. Therefore, as the representative of the central government in the regions, he strongly supports the recommendations for building the hall. In fact, the Provincial Government has also provided land for grants in very strategic areas both in terms of location and assets.
“It must be very supportive, we have even provided strategic land near the largest river here. Furthermore, HD said, it is undeniable that South Sumatra has many species of fish and this can be seen from various events held. But unfortunately some of these types are not visible.

For this reason, any institution related to fisheries is asked to maintain fisheries habitat in order to survive in South Sumatra. Both as natural resource assets and for research and research.
In order for the existence of this hall to be quickly realized, HD asked related parties to increase the intensity of communication. So that the welfare of the citizens of South Sumatra also increases.
The Head of the Research Institute for Public Aquatic Fisheries and Fisheries Extension from the Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, DR Arif Wibowo explained that the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) in 2021 will raise the status of the extension installation to become a Fisheries Training and Extension Center. This center will be a center or center for fisheries training and extension in charge of five provinces around South Sumatra.
Currently, Arif said that his party has used more than 99 hectares of the provincial government’s grant land to become a fisheries extension facility in the Keramasan area, Kertapati.
“A two-story building has been built and the construction of the fence will continue to be carried out gradually. Later, after being upgraded to BP3 Palembang, it will become a Satker itself,” he explained.
It is hoped that with this development the production of the South Sumatra fisheries sector will increase so that it will also boost the welfare of the community.
