Solo, The Indonesia Post – The Indonesian Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said digital transformation was the key to accelerating national economic recovery.
“Indonesia is a major digital technology player because 40 percent of total transactions in ASEAN come from Indonesia,” he said at the inauguration of the Solo Technopark Science and Technology Area (STP) in Solo, Monday.
He said the digital economy in Indonesia which was launched by President Joko Widodo in 2018 was in accordance with the planned digital economy gross sales value of US$77 billion. Meanwhile, in 2025 it is estimated to be close to 130 billion US dollars, and in 2030 it could reach 220-360 billion US dollars.
In this regard, Solo Technopark takes an important role in the development of the digital economy sector.
“STP is an area oriented towards digital transformation and natural resources, human resources. And STP is an icon for creative talents and I ask Shopee to encourage this, all that remains is to develop its human resources,” he said.
He said the focus on science and technology is very important because it is an added value to the Ministry of Industry.
“The Textile Academy is here as well as under digital transformation,” he said.
Meanwhile, according to him, the City of Solo has a strategic role in becoming a small, medium, service industrial city for the last 15 years.
For economic growth in Solo, it is targeted to reach 5.8 percent with the current inflation rate of 0.32 percent.
