Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The government has agreed to boost the new entrepreneurship ratio target until 2024 by one million people in order to pursue the prerequisites as a developed country of 4 percent.
This was agreed by the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, and Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian represented by the Directorate General of Regional Development Teguh Setyabudi during a coordination meeting at the Sarinah Building, Jakarta.
“Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 2 of the Year concerning National Entrepreneurship Development (PKN) aims to accelerate the achievement of the 2020-2024 National Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN) target in the form of the realization of one million entrepreneurs of which 400 thousand entrepreneurs are contributions from ministries/agencies (k/l). ) and 600 thousand entrepreneurs as regional contributions from 2022-2024,” said Teten as the Chief Executive of the National Entrepreneurship Development Committee as in an official statement, Jakarta, Wednesday.
In particular, the Presidential Decree on PKN mandates 27 K/L to actively participate in guarding the achievement of one million new entrepreneurs with the contribution of the Ministry of SOEs as much as 120 thousand, 630 thousand from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, and the rest comes from the regions coordinated by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The government is said to have divided the target to give birth to new entrepreneurs into three groups. One from informal to formal, then from micro business actors to small business actors, and from small business actors to medium business actors.
“From the informal to the formal from the Ministry of Home Affairs, micro to small at Mr. Sandiaga, and small to medium at Mr. Erick’s place,” said Teten.
SOE Minister Erick Thohir hopes that stakeholders can work together to pursue the target of entrepreneurship.
To achieve this target, the Ministry of SOEs is said to be focusing on financing and entrepreneurship assistance. He believes that what is targeted can be achieved even though there is still the COVID-19 pandemic and the political year leading up to the 2024 General Election.
“I don’t think you should be trapped in a political year because the thing called job creation and the creation of entrepreneurs is not because of the political year. We have to keep creating,” he said.
Menparekraf Sandiaga likens working together with 27 ministries/agencies to a colossal orchestra.
“I am sure that the President’s target to enter the order of developed countries is a minimum of 4 percent entrepreneurial ratio can be achieved,” said Sandiaga. (mhn/bbs)
