12th Anniversary of North Musi Rawas Regency Celebrated, HD Provides Support for Infrastructure Development

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru, attended the 12th Anniversary of North Musi Rawas Regency (Muratara) accompanied by the Chairperson of the South Sumatra PKK TP Feby Deru.

This event is a momentum to increase the spirit of regional development and progress, which took place at Griya Iluk, Monday (23/06/2025) afternoon.

The 12th anniversary of Muratara was also combined with the handover of the Percha Leanpuri Park and the handover of assistance to the elderly.

Governor Herman Deru said that he was a living witness to the development of the New Autonomous Region (DOB), because since the first period he always took the time to attend the Muratara anniversary commemoration.

“I appreciate the achievements that have been achieved by Muratara over the past 12 years. I hope this district will continue to progress and develop, and improve the welfare of the community,” he said.

He explained that in South Sumatra there are 4000 km of former transmigration roads that are regional government assets, but have never been officially transferred to the regional government.

So this causes the demand for infrastructure development to be high. According to him, this must be fixed little by little, and regarding this he has conveyed it to Bappenas.

It is no wonder that this infrastructure problem is what drives Muratara to become a DOB.

“I brought a gift for Muratara’s 12th anniversary, namely special financial assistance of 40 billion 252 million rupiah to improve infrastructure development in Muratara,” he explained.

Another special gift that Herman Deru also gave was the construction of an electricity substation by PLN and the Muratara district government and the South Sumatra provincial government also built an electricity substation to meet the needs of the community. The realization of the construction of this electricity substation is expected to help security and provide convenience for the Muratara community.

“Muratara is the youngest district along with Pali district. Hopefully, the construction of the electricity substation will further facilitate the span of control between the South Sumatra provincial government and the Muratara district government,” he said.

Furthermore, Herman Deru also explained why on every occasion of the anniversary of the district/city in South Sumatra he always wears traditional regional clothes, this is none other than a self-introspection of what has been done for the region he leads as well as a form of respect for cultural traditions.

In the same place, Muratara Regent Devi Suhartoni said that since becoming the Regent of Muratara in the first period without the support of Governor Herman Deru, he certainly could not run the government well.

“Thank you, Mr. Governor, for the assistance in the construction of this magnificent and representative Griya Iluk, as well as the construction of roads in Muratara. Grateful because with the construction of the Griya Iluk multipurpose building, it can be a place to commemorate Muratara’s 12th anniversary and can be used for community activities,” he said.

This district can run well thanks to the synergy with the Muratara Forkopimda. Also community support in progress and pride in being a Muratara citizen. Therefore, this can make Muratara jump higher to catch up with the progress of other districts/cities in South Sumatra.

“On behalf of the Muratara district government, I would like to thank Governor Herman Deru and the Chairperson of the South Sumatra PKK TP and OPDs within the South Sumatra provincial government who have been willing to attend the Muratara Anniversary commemoration,” he said.

Present at the Muratara anniversary commemoration were Regional Heads throughout South Sumatra, Regional Heads of neighboring provinces, the Muratara Forkopimda, fighters for the expansion of the Muratara DOB, women’s organizations throughout Muratara, religious leaders and community leaders in Muratara.
