Previously, the Government Spokesperson for COVID-19, Reisa Broto Asmoro, emphasized that strong protection for children from all outbreaks depends on healthy and safe environmental conditions and protection from vaccines.
“After all, children need protection. We can give it and it comes from the family or the surrounding environment, also keep giving complete vaccinations to children,” said Reisa.
She said that in the face of the dangers of COVID-19, children are one of the groups most prone to infection. Because, those who can get the COVID-19 vaccine are only children aged six years and over.
As for children aged six years and under, they have not been able to get the COVID-19 vaccine because they are still in the assessment stage.
Conditions are increasingly vulnerable to the presence of outbreaks of other diseases that are harmful to children’s health. So that basic immunization is an important effort to protect oneself which is not only useful for adults but also children.
However, according to Reisa, vulnerabilities can be prevented by enrolling children in participating in complete basic immunization at the nearest health facility. Moreover, the government is launching the 2022 National Child Immunization Month. (mhn/bbs)
