Draft Regional Regulation on Construction Services Approved by DPRD of South Sumatra Province

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Legislative Council (DPRD) of South Sumatra Province held an XLIX Plenary Meeting (49) with the agenda of submitting a report on the results of the discussion and research of the Special Committee (Pansus) III of the DPRD of South Sumatra Province on the Raperda of South Sumatra Province on Construction Services in the DPRD meeting room, Monday (30/05/2022).

The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the DPRD of South Sumatra Province, Hj. RA. Anita Noeringhati, SH.MH and accompanied by the vice chairmen namely. Kartika Sandra Desi, SH and H. Muchendi Mahzareki, SH. from the government side attended by the Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru and Pj. Regional Secretary S.A Supriyono along with OPD and other invited guests.

Spokesperson for Special Committee III DR.Ir.H. Syamsul Bahri, MM in his report said that the discussion and research on the Draft Regional Regulation on Construction Services has gone through a comparative study to the DPRD of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), the Construction Services Society forum, and carried out consultations and coordination with the Directorate of Regional Legal Products, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Law and Human Rights. RI and the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, Directorate General of Construction.

According to him again, “This Raperda was proposed by taking into account the direction of growth and development of construction services in South Sumatra with the hope of realizing the implementation of quality construction work in South Sumatra”.

In the same place, the Governor of South Sumatra said this regional regulation would later maintain the quality of building construction to be built in South Sumatra,

“In the future, construction service actors must be given training related to construction,” he added.

“The existence of this regulation is to ensure equality of position between service users and service providers, to fulfill the standardization of the use of certified construction workers and to increase community participation in the field of construction services,” he added.

After listening to the report on the results of the research and discussion, it was finally agreed and approved to be ratified as a Regional Regulation, with the signing of a Joint Decree between the Governor of South Sumatra and the Chairman of the DPRD of South Sumatra Province. (ojn/mhn/ril)
