Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Acting Governor of South Sumatra Elen Setiadi attended the 2024 Regional Inflation Control Coordination Meeting held by the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs virtually at the Ballroom of the Santika Premiere Hotel, Palembang Airport, Monday (11/11/2024).
The Inflation Control Coordination Meeting was led directly by the Acting Secretary General (Sekjen) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) Tomsi Tohir, who said that at this coordination meeting the most important thing was the volatile price situation. So it is focused on the highest retail price, how to overcome it.
“So with the price increase, that is our focus. For the provinces and regencies/cities with the lowest inflation, we say thank you,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics, Pudji Ismartini said that the inflation review in October 2024, on a monthly basis Indonesia experienced inflation of 0.08 percent after the previous five months of deflation. Compared to the end of last year, in October this calendar year inflation was 0.82 percent.
Inflation development by component January-October 2024. Core components have always experienced inflation from the beginning of the year on a monthly basis in October inflation was 0.22 percent compared to last year, calendar year inflation was 1.91 percent.
Commodities that often experience deflation include tomatoes, red chilies, chicken eggs, cayenne pepper, chicken meat and air transportation rates. (mhn/ril)
