Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Acting Governor of South Sumatra Elen Setiadi opened the XII Regional Conference of the DPD Real Estate Indonesia (REI) of South Sumatra in 2024 with the theme “REI’s Role in Realizing Housing Development in South Sumatra” at the Ballroom of the Novotel Hotel in Palembang, Monday, (11/11/2024).
Acting Governor of South Sumatra, Elen Setiadi said that the South Sumatra Provincial Government will support various housing development programs in South Sumatra, especially through the 3 million housing program from the Indonesian Ministry of Housing and Settlements.
“The Minister of Housing and Settlements has conveyed the concept of accelerating development for the implementation of the construction of 3 million houses which are indeed intended to improve community welfare and efforts to improve the regional economy,” he explained.
Various schemes that will be carried out include lowering prices, including by providing facilities that are not only fiscal, but also taxes that are the authority of the region, or perhaps for Low-Income Communities (MBR) it is proposed not to be charged.
Elen said that the South Sumatra Provincial Government will support the program in accordance with regional authority. Moreover, South Sumatra is considered to still have a fairly high badlock or gap in housing availability, while the South Sumatra DPD REI is also considered the best in providing housing.
“Hopefully with these various incentive plans, more houses will be provided, including the provision of ASN housing using government assets,” he concluded.
The General Chairperson of DPD REI, H. Joko Suranto, expressed that the DPD REI’s kinship was very good, as evidenced by the presence of several DPD REI Chairpersons in Indonesia directly at the XII REI Musda in Indonesia.
Joko said that DPD REI welcomed and supported the government’s new program, namely the construction of 3 million houses through the Ministry of Housing and Residential Areas.
“The existence of the Ministry of Housing and Residential Areas will provide certainty of budgeting, policy improvements, and government support in launching the 3 million house program, namely 1 million houses in urban areas, 2 million in coastal areas and rural areas,” he said.
The Head of the South Sumatra REI DPD, Zewwy Salim, said that the management of the South Sumatra REI DPD 2020-2024 has ended today. The REI Musda today was held to listen to the accountability report of the REI management as well as to prepare the work program for the next management.
“The REI DPD aspires to be a pioneer government partner in carrying out housing development to realize reliable and professional development,” he said
The South Sumatra REI management for the 2020-2024 period has almost 400 active members. According to him, REI members have increased, which shows the intensity of development in South Sumatra with the target of building medium and simple houses.
On that occasion, awards were also given to the DPD REI chairs from the first REI DPD Chairmen to the present. And also the handover of 2 housing units to the South Sumatra Police and the High Prosecutor’s Office to be given to personnel in need.
This activity was attended by 18 REI DPDs throughout Indonesia. Also present were the South Sumatra Forkopimda and the Heads of the South Sumatra OPDs. (mhn/ril)
