Palembang, The Indonesia Post – As a form of commitment to reducing and alleviating extreme poverty rates in South Sumatra. Acting The Governor of South Sumatra, Agus Fatoni initiated the Simultaneous Home Renovation Movement throughout South Sumatra, where today (Monday, 12/2/2024) an Online (Virtual) Meeting was held. Preparations for the House Renovation Activity were attended by all Regents/Mayors throughout South Sumatra.
From reports from Regional Heads, it was found that 6,106 units of houses would be renovated, this will continue to increase pending reports on the results of coordination with BUMN and BUMD in their respective regions.
On that occasion, Fatoni also explained that this activity was carried out to celebrate South Sumatra’s 78th anniversary.
“78 is our minimum number for carrying out house renovations in each region. Those areas that have not yet reached that number, hopefully it will be made easier and smoother to reach that number,” said Fatoni.
The funds or budget for carrying out house renovations come from the APBN, APBD and CSR from each region.
Assistant II for Economics, Finance and Development, Ir. Basyaruddin Akhmad, M.Sc said that the launching activity would also be attended directly by the Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Tito Karnavian and the General Chair of the Central TP PKK, Tri Tito Karnavian, where the implementation time coincided with the working visit of the General Chair of the Central TP PKK to Palembang City. On February 20, 21, 22 2024 in order to hand over sanitation assistance to the people of Palembang City.
In this regard, Fatoni spontaneously instructed all Regional Heads to also carry out a similar activity called the South Sumatra Simultaneous Sanitation Assistance Movement to complete the South Sumatra Simultaneous House Renovation Movement program which will be launched simultaneously.
And the results obtained amounted to 6,691 units receiving sanitation assistance and this number will continue to increase, considering that there are still many K/Cities that have not sent reports.
