Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru (HD), attended a joint discussion with SPSI and stakeholders at the Graha Bina Praja Auditorium, Friday (1/5/2026).
In commemoration of May Day 2026, HD emphasized the commitment of the South Sumatra Provincial Government and the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) in responding to issues of layoffs, health insurance, and protection of the informal sector.
“Not only formal workers, but we now also cover informal sectors like blacksmiths and dock workers through our corporate social responsibility (CSR). We continue to improve labor services to improve welfare,” said HD.
He also ensured that aspirations for organizational facilities would be given special consideration together with the Regional Police Chief and the Regional Military Commander in order to realize “South Sumatra Progress for All.”
The chairman of SPSI South Sumatra, Zainal Arifin Munhab, appreciated the government’s real attention, including the provision of basic food supplies and operational ambulances.
“Thank you for this special facility. We hope this synergy will continue to be strengthened for the welfare of workers in South Sumatra,” he said. (mhn/ril)
