Palembang, The Indonesian Post – In order to introduce the duties, main points and functions of DPRD members as elements of the Regional Government organizers, Acting Governor of South Sumatra Elen Setiadi attended the Opening of the Orientation of DPRD members for Regency/City throughout South Sumatra in 2024. The Zuri Palembang, Tuesday (3/09/2024).
Participants were members of the DPRD for Regency/City throughout South Sumatra totaling 645 people divided into twelve (12) batches from various Regencies/Cities in South Sumatra.
Elen Setiadi conveyed that there were several important points to be the focus of DPRD Members in the future to work together with their respective Regional Heads on how to improve their respective economies so as to be able to reduce poverty rates in South Sumatra.
“The correlation is how we reduce the poverty rate which is still high, the point is how our economic growth is good, opening sufficient job vacancies, of course welfare will increase and poverty will decrease. he said
He continued that one of his goals was to provide an understanding that we have very great potential to progress but it requires cooperation from all parties.
On the same occasion, the Head of BPSDM South Sumatra Prof.DR.H.M.Edward Juliartha, S.Sos.,MM said that there were 645 participants in this Orientation and they would take part in the Orientation from September 2 to October 19, 2024 which used an andragogy approach with an adult learning method
“The resource persons for the Orientation for DPRD members must have a Training of Trainer (TOT) certificate for 2023-2024, consisting of Structural officials/Functional officials according to their fields of expertise, practitioners, academics according to their fields of expertise,” he explained
In the final session of the event, the participants were awarded badges represented by various regencies/cities.
Also present were the Chairperson of the South Sumatra DPRD RA.Anita Noeringhati., SH., MH, and other OPD Heads. (ojn/ril)
