PALEMBANG, The Indonesia Post – The active role of the Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru in supporting the progress of the police institution in South Sumatra should be appreciated, even this time the award came directly from the South Sumatra Regional Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Eko Indra Heri.
“This award charter is given as our gratitude. The Governor has provided support so that the police, especially for the South Sumatra Regional Police, are even better, including the facilities and infrastructure,” said the Head of South Sumatra Regional Police, Inspector General of Police Eko Indra Heri at the Commemoration of the Bhayangkara Traffic Day. 65 of 2020 at the Atyasa Convention Center, Tuesday (22/9).
Herman Deru is considered to have played an active role in supporting the advancement of the National Police institution. Moreover, the police who work together with the TNI are able to show good performance in maintaining security and political stability so that the zero-conflict label in South Sumatra is getting stronger.
It is known, not only giving land grants for the improvement and development of the South Sumatra Regional Police, Herman Deru also provided financial assistance for the construction of the Police Headquarters building.
It didn’t stop there, before that, Herman Deru also had time to provide assistance to several official vehicles to the Police in South Sumatra. The assistance was given as a form of appreciation and appreciation to the Police for providing a sense of security for the community.
In addition, Herman Deru also took part in inaugurating the Polres in Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir Regency, which was about to operate for the first time.
The award in the form of a charter was given for Herman Deru’s support to the police, one of which has provided a land grant for the development of the South Sumatra Police office covering an area of 2 hectares for the construction of the South Sumatra Polda Safety Riding Center Building.
He explained, the police are currently continuing to make improvements to the performance system in serving the community.
“The National Police itself continues to improve so that it will get better. Police performance will not be carried out smoothly without the help of all parties and the community,” he said.
For this reason, he asked related parties including the community to continue to contribute and encourage the role of the police.
“We also hope that the community’s contribution will improve our services, especially this Traffic Traffic. Community support will certainly encourage our success. That is why obey traffic and make road safety a necessity,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru in his written remarks read out by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of South Sumatra Province, H Nasrun Umar, said that the land grant was made as a form of concern for the Governor of the South Sumatra Regional Police.
“The land grant is a form of support from the governor for the police in South Sumatra. So far, the police have tried to provide comfort and security to the community,” said Nasrun.
According to him, the South Sumatra Provincial Government itself will immediately certify the land that was granted.
“We have instructed the relevant parties to carry out the land certification on behalf of the South Sumatra Regional Police. With this, it is hoped that the performance of the police in South Sumatra can be more enthusiastic in carrying out their duties so that the community is also more comfortable with the presence of the police,” he said.
On the other hand, on the commemoration of the 65th Traffic Day, Herman Deru asked that this should be interpreted as an effort by the police to create and maintain traffic that is safe, secure, orderly and smooth.
“Especially in the current digital era, the police certainly have to adapt. Polri must continue to make improvements so that they are not crushed by the times,” he explained.
Currently, the Police itself continues to improve, especially towards Golden Indonesia 2045. One of them is the birth of public services based on information technology or e-policing.
E-policing is expected to be able to improve police services in a fast, precise, accurate, transparent, accountable, informative and easily accessible manner.
“E-policing is also expected to be able to go hand in hand with the conventional method which is currently still effectively used. In addition, this method can also generate human resources so that the police institution can become more successful,” he added. (ojn/ril)
