Governor Herman Deru continues to ensure the progress of the toll roads construction in South Sumatra

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru continues to ensure the progress of the construction of a number of toll roads in South Sumatra.

As on Monday (23/1), Governor Herman Deru directly observed the progress of the construction of the Kayuagung – Palembang – Betung (Kapal Betung) toll road.

“It is hoped that the existence of the toll road can answer the complaints of the people who often experience traffic jams on the Palembang – Banyuasin road section,” said Herman Deru, during the inspection.

In fact, Herman Deru asked PT Waskita Toll Road to speed up the construction of the toll road section so that it can be put into operation immediately.

“The operation of this toll road is certainly very much awaited by the community. Moreover, we know that at any time along the 22 KM road section from Palembang to Banyuasin there are often traffic jams. We hope that PT Waskita will speed up the progress of its construction,” he explained.

Because, he continued, the existence of this toll road can accelerate people’s mobility.

Therefore, Herman Deru hopes that the synergy between the Central Government, the Provincial Government, and the Regency Government will continue to be improved.

“This toll road is proof of good synergy, starting from the central government, the provincial government and the district government. I hope this collaboration can continue to be well established. The role of the community is also needed,” he explained.

From the results of the information received by Governor Herman Deru, it is targeted that the Kapalbetung toll road, in particular the Kayuagung-Palembang-Banyuasin section, can be operated in June 2023.

It is known that Governor Herman Deru conducted a review of the Kapalbetung toll road section from Palembang to point 95 of the construction of the Kapalbetung toll road section. The difficulty of the terrain, which was still red soil, coupled with heavy rain, did not stop the inspection conducted by Governor Herman Deru.

Not only that, Herman Deru reviewed the progress of the construction of the Musi V bridge which is part of the toll road.

Also during the review, Governor Herman Deru was accompanied by the person in charge of the Kapalbetung toll road project from PT. Waskita Toll Road and a number of related officials within the South Sumatra Provincial Government. (mhn/ril)
