Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru (HD) received an audience with the Committee for the Election of the Chancellor of Sriwijaya University (Unsri) for the 2023-2027 term in the Guest Room of the Governor of South Sumatra.
Through this opportunity, the Head of the Unsri Senate, Prof. Ir. Subriyer Nasir, MS., PH.D said that the tenure of the Chancellor of Unsri, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Anis Saggaff, MSCE is coming to an end.
“Regarding the election of the new Chancellor of Unsri, we therefore had an audience with the Governor as the Board of Trustees of Unsri, to inform about this activity,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Unsri Chancellor Selection Committee, Prof. Dr. H. Joni Emirzon, SH., M.HUM reported that the tenure of the Chancellor of Unsri, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Anis Saggaff, MSCE will end on September 24 2023 and the Chancellor election is held every 4 years.
” And we report that in the early stages of screening, 70 people who have the right to run for chancellor candidates can participate. They are filtered into 4 potential candidates. Three people will be elected, only later Minister Nadiem can vote to choose from these 3 candidates”, he explained.
Responding to reports regarding the election of the Chancellor of Unsri which will be held, HD hopes that the 3 Chancellor candidates who will later be elected as Chancellor of Unsri have equal capacities and abilities.
“To avoid chaos in the future, I ordered that the three candidates have the same quality,” said HD.
HD also conveyed that the agenda for selecting the Chancellor of Unsri could go according to plan and run smoothly and produce the best Rector of Unsri who has a vision and mission in advancing Unsri both in the field of education and institutions nationally and internationally.
“Hopefully we can get the best chancellor and the committee can organize this as well as possible and we hope that Unsri will become more famous for all its innovations,” concluded HD ending the audience. (mhn/ril)
