Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru together with the Indonesian Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo inspected rice factories and warehouses in the Pegayut Village area, Ogan Ilir Regency, Monday (7/8).
According to him, the availability of rice stocks in South Sumatra is very safe and under control.
“South Sumatra’s steps to safeguard food are not a far-fetched matter. South Sumatra is ready to safeguard national food. Even though the weather fluctuates, it does not interfere with rice production,” said Herman Deru.
Not only that, the entry of rice stocks from agricultural land in a number of regions to the Capital City of Palembang, indicates that farmers’ rice production is still going very well.
“And this indicates that South Sumatra is able to maintain food for this area and hopefully it can also contribute to supporting national food,” he said. (mhn/ril)
