Palembang, The Indonesia Post – South Sumatra Governor H. Herman Deru opened the 18 Holes Stroke Play Handicap Of The Day System 36 Golf Tournament held by PT. Sakha Mandiri Bersama at the Kenten Heritage 1937 Golf Course Palembang, Sunday (6/15/2025) morning. In addition to promoting sports among the people of South Sumatra and Palembang, this agenda is also expected to increase tourism visits to South Sumatra.

On that occasion, HD appreciated all the organizers of the Palembang Djaya Friendly Golf Tournament who had made the event a success. HD also appreciated the participation of 143 golfers who took part in the tournament.
According to HD, holding a tournament to celebrate the 1342nd anniversary of the City of Palembang is very appropriate. As one of the oldest cities in Indonesia, Palembang needs more maintenance than other cities. One way to maintain it is through the excitement of the events held.
“If young (city) is better to build, if old build and maintain then maintaining it must be with joy and excitement,” he explained.
One of the signs and characteristics of a city that is liked is the number of tourists who come either because of sports or because of business or also because of pure tourism.
