Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru was also present in Celebrating the Day of Orphans Memorizing the Qur’an with the Tahfidz Kiai Marogan Islamic Boarding School.
HD conveyed that the Tahfidz House Program was started from an idea by the Governor and Deputy Governor of South Sumatra which later became a structured program, where the program is one village with one tahfiz quran house.
“During his two years as governor, the target of 3500 tahfidz houses has been fulfilled, even now it has reached 4000 tahfidz houses in South Sumatra. This is a form of spirit contained in eradicating illiteracy in the Quran,” said HD.
HD said that to build the Tahfidz House, it can be started from the TPA and tpq, this work is not a simple job where the main capital is public trust. In addition, the role of mothers is also needed by leading their children to understand, practice and implement Islam.
“Thank you for the title Mr. Orphan Memorizing the Quran Marogan which was given to me, although it is not easy for me but I believe this is a good goal so that the government can give special attention to orphans. So we as fellow Muslims are in a bond of brotherhood to be able to give attention not only to material but also in the form of caress of love and teaching,” concluded HD.
The caretaker of the Tahfidz Kiai Marogan Islamic Boarding School, KH Masagus Ahmad Fauzan SI, said that the Kiai Marogan Tahfidz Islamic Boarding School is a free junior high and high school level education that accommodates poor orphans and abandoned children. The target of the Tahfidz Kiai Marogan Islamic Boarding School for three years of school is to be able to memorize 30 juz of Al-Quran, if you excel and memorize 30 juz, you can continue to college with a scholarship.
“This Islamic boarding school is an alternative place to accommodate orphans with a target of a thousand orphans attending school in it, besides that the land that was built to become a boarding school is a waqf land from the late Kiai Marogan orphan,” said Ahmad. (mhn/ril)
