Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru (HD) attended the Inauguration of the Head of Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Prov. South Sumatra, Moh. Wahyu Yulianto, S.Si.,S.ST.,M.Si at the Graha Bina Praja Auditorium.
On this occasion HD said that BPS has an important role in providing indicators for the government in making a policy.
“If we talk about BPS, BPS is the dashboard for the Government of Indonesia. This is where we see all the indicators of all the big vehicles we drive. BPS covers all aspects that play an important role in providing data to run all aspects of government,” said HD.
He also added that BPS is not just a complementary agency for regional government administration.
“The success of regional development carried out by the government, of course, depends on the indicators that appear. So don’t let these indicators be damaged Because all the organs in the BPS are all important,” said HD.
In addition, HD also congratulated the new Head of BPS Sumsel, he requested that BPS Sumsel continue to work in good synergy with local governments, both Provincial BPS and Regency/City BPS.
“Collaboration that is going well is certainly needed, an accurate navigator, namely BPS and hopefully Mr. Zul will be the leader of our chemistry,” said HD.
Meanwhile, the Main Secretary of BPS RI, Ir. Atqo Mardiyanto, M.Si, said that the important task of BPS is to produce and present quality and various data as a reference for local governments in determining policies. (mhn/ril)
