Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru appreciated the existence of the South Sumatra Old Friends Gathering Forum (Silatu Salama). He stated this when he received the Silatu Salama management for the 2022-2025 period as part of a friendly gathering and introduction to the newly inaugurated board.
“I appreciate the legacy that has been presented to this area. With various educational backgrounds and experiences, of course we need a lot of input,” he said.
There were several points conveyed by HD, including input on efforts to maintain local wisdom, formulas for determining people’s living standards, efforts to prepare for the demographic bonus, and reducing stunting in South Sumatra.
“I need the experience gained according to the scientific discipline and duties of the time. Give constructive criticism, input and opinions. Of the many innovations, the goal is the welfare of the community,” he said.
Previously, the Secretary of the Salama Silatu Advisory Board of South Sumatra, Prof. Dr. H. M. Faizal, DEA., said that Silatu Salama had been formed since 2015 and was inaugurated on December 3, 2022. This organization brings together retirees and aims to discuss and exchange experiences to generate development ideas and hopefully benefit the community.
“We are ready to help the government and the community in building an advanced South Sumatra,” he said. (mhn/bbs)
