HD: ‘Create an Independent and Productive Islamic Boarding School’

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru continued his work agenda receiving hearings from the Central Leadership Council (DPP) of the South Sumatra Islamic Boarding School Forum (FORPESS) in his living room, Tuesday (16/1 /23).

On that occasion Governor Herman Deru motivated and encouraged FORPESS as a large organization to expand its work on a wider national level.

“Sorry, I wasn’t patronizing beforehand. FORPESS is like a great samurai. It’s only right that FORPESS can further develop itself on the national stage for the benefit of many people,” he said enthusiastically.

As a large organization, FORPES partners are said to be not limited to the Provincial Government, but it is hoped that it will extend to related ministries, such as the Ministry of Religion, Ministry of Agriculture and other ministries. It is hoped that good synergy can be established.

In the current era of extraordinary technological developments, according to him, FORPESS must also start to be able to keep up by not belittling itself.

Apart from encouraging FORPESS to take on a wider role, Herman Deru also invited the board of this forum to educate students so that they become independent figures with the South Sumatra Food Self-Sufficient Movement (GSMP).

Meanwhile the Elected Head of FORPES KH. Mukhsin Salim said that apart from reporting on the results of the FORBESS Conference at the end of December 2022, through this hearing they also hoped for the presence of the Governor of South Sumatra at the inauguration ceremony which is planned to be held on 1 February.

As the elected Chairperson who has been mandated by its members, he said FORPESS is ready to support and work together with the South Sumatra Provincial Government. Including supporting the One Village One Home Tahfidz program. (mhn/ril)
