Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru opened a review meeting of the Family Development, Population and Family Planning (Bangga Kencana) program and the acceleration of stunting reduction at the South Sumatra Province level in 2022 with the theme “Reflections on the Proud Kencana Program and Acceleration of Stunting Reduction and Performance Improvement Strategies for 2022”.
HD hopes that this activity will examine ways to sharpen the awareness of all parties, consisting of the government, interfaith, posyandu, to play a role in educating and increasing awareness of mothers-to-be in preventing stunting.
“It is the role of extension workers who can cooperate with KUA how to educate officers at the posyandu and Family Wellfare (PKK) at the village level,” he said.
That way, HD hopes that stunting prevention efforts can be carried out as early as possible. Because stunting can be prevented from prospective mothers who apply a healthy lifestyle and balanced nutrition when preparing for pregnancy and are pregnant.
“The BKKBN can also cooperate not only with district/city technical institutions but also with the resident community. There are reasons that lead to ignorance and low public awareness, which must be sought so that they can really plan a pregnancy properly,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the South Sumatra BKKBN Representative, Mediheryanto, SH., MH., said this activity was carried out to evaluate the achievement of provincial and district/city performance contracts and to find out how far the implementation of efforts to accelerate stunting reduction in districts/cities and the realization of the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) ) and Family Planning Operational Assistance (BOKB).
