Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H. H. Herman Deru invites all Vocational school (SMK) students throughout South Sumatra to continue to innovate whose results can be utilized, not only exhibited, because the community really needs creations that can be utilized.
This was stated at the Opening of the Creativity and Innovation Exhibition of Vocational High Schools throughout South Sumatra in 2021.
“I am very proud every time there is an exhibition, I never stay because the eyes and ears are the parameters of the benefits of the exhibition,” said Governor Herman Deru (HD).
HD said that we (Sumsel) should be proud that nationally, SMK has reached the top 8, meaning we are taken into account because there are so many competitions from various regions.
“We have to race, especially in the current era, openly in real time, and there are always the latest creations and innovations,” HD said.
HD continued, The orientation of the vision and mission of innovation from nothing to being is called innovation but adoption is not wrong, being superior in quantity can reduce the cost. Like the creation of a signal booster but use it even if it’s not standardized by Balai Monitor (Balmon), at least it’s beneficial for the local community.
“I hope there is a creation like Gran Fondo that doesn’t need to invest in hotels but is enough for homestays and triggers innovation to students by opening homestays for students in carrying out their management,” he concluded.
HD also gave awards to outstanding SMK students, who have made South Sumatra proud at the National level, to Ramadhan Students of YP Gajah Mada SMK Palembang, Gold Medal Winners in the Light Vehicle Automotive Engineering Competition and to Aulia Putri Ardavi, students of SMK Negeri 03 Palembang, Bronze Winner in Competition Receptionist.
