Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The focus in the leadership of HD – MY is to reduce the poverty rate in South Sumatra (South Sumatra). One effective way to do this is to reduce the unemployment rate in South Sumatra.
In making this goal a success, the Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru (HD) today (Tuesday, 18/10) opened the Grand Job Fair of South Sumatra Province which was held at SMK Negeri 2 Palembang.
“One of our focus points is reducing the unemployment rate and one of the most effective ways is to add skills for all high schools (SMK/SMA) students so that SMK/SMA graduates become graduates who are ready to work,” HD said in his speech.
HD added that SMK is synonymous with graduates whose Human Resources are ready to work, this is because there is a match between interests and talents. “then it will be a completeness for the HR if their talents and interests are united”, said HD.
HD also expressed his gratitude to the Human Resources Forum and SOEs (BUMN/BUMD), private companies who have collaborated on 1 Grand Job Fair in South Sumatra Province.
In addition, HD also advised SMK students who had not had the opportunity to be accepted to work at this Job Fair to be able to continue to fight and not give up.
Meanwhile, Provincial Education Office. Sumsel, Drs. H. Riza Fahlevi, MM reported that at the Grand Job Fair of South Sumatra Province there were 30 companies that joined which provided a total of 1,000 job vacancies for Vocational High School Students in South Sumatra who took part in the activity.
“This activity is also held for two days from 18 to 19 October 2022 with the aim of bringing together SMK alumni with labor users or companies directly in order to reduce unemployment which has an impact on reducing poverty in South Sumatra,” he said. (mhn/ril)
