Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Starting the ceremony for the 61st Anniversary of the South Sumatra Province, the Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru as the Head of South Sumatra Commander accompanied by the Secretary General of Kwarnas Bachtiar Utomo examined the ranks of the participants in the ceremony.
In his speech, HD said that this year is the 61st anniversary of the Scout Movement and the 110th anniversary of the existence of the World Scout movement on Earth in Indonesia.
“Today’s activity is an effort to advance and develop the Scout movement in South Sumatra. With the theme “Serving Without Boundaries To Build Nation’s Resilience”. So the service we do is part of education in Scouts. Starting from the alert level, we have been educated to be ready to help,” said HD .
HD added that in November 2022, South Sumatra will host the 2022 National Bhakti Saka Bhayangkara Camp (PERTIKARANAS). He asked not only to be successful as a host but also as an organizer.
“Scouting is a regional investment to increase human resources to foster the spirit of love for the homeland to create human resources with character in developing the region. To local governments to continue to help both materially and morally in every activity to advance the Scout movement in their respective regions,” concluded HD.
On that occasion also held the award presentation from the Chairperson of Kwarnas Budi Waseso in the form of awards for Melati, Dharma Bakti, Karya Bakti, Panca Warsa,
Head of the South Sumatra Scout Kwarda H. Riza Pahlevi explained that today’s ceremony was held as the climax of the 61st Anniversary. In each region various series have been carried out such as scouting competitions, pilgrimages to the Heroes Cemetery, community service activities and environmental conservation activities.
