Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The message ‘Make FAMS a Forum that Has a Special Identity, Clarity of Direction and Neutrality’ from the Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru was expressly conveyed in front of 70 Social Media admins from various regions in South Sumatra during the closing of the 2021 South Sumatra Social Media Jamboree which was held by the South Sumatra Social Media Admin Forum (FAMS).
“What FAMS has done by forming a forum for social media admin activists from various regions in South Sumatra is a good thing that can realize a shared vision. It’s just a matter of how FAMS can be legally formal, registered and standardized so that it is legal and has a special identity,” HD said.
HD added, this forum must have a clear direction, without any reason behind it, without any political elements, group interests or specific intentions. FAMS must be an independent forum so that the information displayed is truly beneficial for all people of society.
“The 70 accounts that are members of FAMS today must have a clear direction. Because currently there are no specific social media accounts. I am one of the people who witnessed the transition from print media, starting to grow from zero how to stay afloat until to the current digital era,” he explained.
According to HD Media, print, online and social media can survive when the media does not side with one understanding, figure, party or group. In addition, the media must be able to innovate according to the needs of the times, and continue to be creative so as not to be abandoned by the community.
Meanwhile, the elected FAMS Chair M Ridwan Edo, the 2021 Social Media Jamboree will be held to stay in touch between social media activists, educational and sharing events.
“Yesterday we shared with great speakers including the Head of the South Sumatra Province Kominfo, Director of Intelligence and Security for the South Sumatra Police, Content Creator which will certainly increase our knowledge in the future,” explained Edo. (mhn/ril)
