HD Opens Traditional Competition High School Level at OKUS Region

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru opened the Traditional Sports Competition for Senior High Schools in South OKU (OKUS) On that occasion, HD together with the South OKU Regent, Popo Ali Martopo, Muratara Regent, Devi Suhartoni and South OKU Deputy Regent, Sholehien Abuasir took part in a traditional Bakiak competition with the Forkompimda of South OKU Regency.

Excitement mixed with togetherness was seen between the community and students when HD participated in a tug-of-war competition and used the Enggrang game.

In addition to clogs, tug of war and stilts, there were also pillow and kite flying competitions.

On this occasion, HD again invites the public and students to preserve the nature of Lake Ranau including Bidadari Beach

“We must jointly protect and maintain sustainability, including that the water discharge should not be polluted, because this lake flows a lot from rice fields to plantations,” he said.

HD added that as a form of gratitude for the gift of Allah SWT is to process it properly, one of which is to enliven it through recreational sports,” he said.

Before leaving Bidadari Beach on a motorcycle, Governor Herman Deru together with Regent Popo Ali Martopo and Forkompimda released fish seeds. This is an effort in order to maintain the natural preservation of Lake Ranau. (mhn/ril)
