Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru (HD) officially opened the Regional Championship Drag Race Drag Bike Governor Championship which was held by the South Sumatra Youth Gathering Forum (FSPSS) at the non-permanent circuit Jakabaring Sport City Palembang, Monday (18/7/2022).
This activity is the realization of various aspirations of youth in South Sumatra that have been accommodated by FSPSS, aiming to support orderly traffic by channeling racing hobbies, reducing illegal racing and not using racing exhaust on the streets.
HD welcomes and hopes that the event will be well organized. “I believe this place is the right location for this activity to be carried out. Hopefully, it is appropriate for an event like this to continue to be developed with PT JSC as the manager,” said HD.
According to him, this Regional Championship (Kerjurda) is a good intention because even though in South Sumatra the drivers are not classified as sloppy drivers, the motivation is to invite young people to channel their talents in the right places.
“Here, even though we don’t have a circuit equivalent to the Sentul Circuit, hopefully this drag race drag bike can run well and smoothly,” he hoped.
Meanwhile, Head of FSPSS Deliar Marzoeki said that his party also held this activity in the framework of the 4th year of the FSPSS, held for two days from 18-19 July 2022.
Overall 250 participants on Monday, July 18 2022 and 350 other participants held on Tuesday 19 July 2022. “Kejurda competed for the South Sumatra governor trophy with a total prize of Rp. 187 million,” he said.
Also present were the South Sumatran Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Toni Hermanto and the heads of the South Sumatra Province OPD. (mhn/ril)
