Bandung, The Indonesia Post – The Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Johnny G Plate reminded the developers of social media applications (medsos) to immediately register themselves as organizers of the Electronic System (PSE) Private Scope.
“Well, I suggest once again, register immediately, moreover the registration is done with OSS (Online Single Submission),” said Johhny at the AD Kodiklat Pusdikhub, Cimahi City, West Java, Monday.
He said the deadline for registration for Private Scope PSEs is July 20, 2022. Based on supervision, according to him, there are still many social media applications or electronic system operators who have not registered as Private Scope PSEs.
According to him, this has been regulated in Government Regulation Number 71 of 2019 and Minister of Communication and Information Regulation Number 5 of 2020.
He stated that other countries in the world have also implemented the same thing for social media applications operating in their country.
So this is a consequence for social media developers operating in Indonesia. If you don’t register, according to him, social media can be called an application that is classified as illegal in Indonesia.
“Everything has to be legal, let’s support it together. Because this is part of an orderly administration and obeying the law,” he said.
If social media developers are still having trouble registering, he said, the Ministry of Communication and Information is ready to help if needed.
“There must be sanctions, all (social media developers) who do not register are not registered,” said the Minister of Communication and Information. (mhn/bbs)
