Palembang, The Indonesia Post – In order to ensure the readiness of the Palembang Embarkation Hajj Organizing Committee, the Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru directly reviewed the readiness of the facilities and infrastructure of the Palembang Hajj dormitory which will serve the Hajj pilgrims in 1446H/2025M.
Of the total number of Hajj pilgrims in 2025, there are 7012 pilgrims and the departure of the first group is 363 pilgrims who will start entering the dormitory on May 2, 2025 and depart from Palembang to Saudi Arabia on May 3, 2025.
“I sincerely thank you, sir/madam, for agreeing to be part of the Hajj organizing committee, this noble job has a very big responsibility because it carries the great name of the Palembang embarkation,” he said.
He added the importance of ensuring the readiness of the main tasks and functions of each field so that they are able to serve their duties optimally.
“This is related to mentality, so even in any condition, continue to serve with a happy heart and be friendly from the beginning of departure until returning home,” he said.
Next, HD conducted a direct review of the readiness of the facilities and infrastructure in the Palembang Hajj dormitory to ensure readiness starting from the frontliners, places of worship, to other facilities.
“We have all checked from the frontliners, the readiness of accommodation, medicines to the internet and from the review earlier, thank God, in general, everything is ready,” he said while leaving the Safa and Marwah locations to the mini Kaaba.
Also present were the Head of the South Sumatra Ministry of Religion Regional Office, Syafitri Irwan, Assistant I for Government and Public Welfare (Kesra) of the South Sumatra Provincial Secretariat (Setda) Dr. Drs. H. Sunarto, M.Si and other OPDs. (ojn/ril)
