Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The function of the horse so far is because its energy is used as a means of transportation for agriculture and plantations. However, the shift in the function of the horse was replaced by a machine, the horse was used as a tool for sports. To introduce and grow public interest in South Sumatra, the South Sumatra Provincial Government carried out intensive socialization, so that horse riding became a sport that was getting more attention.
This was explained by the Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru as well as the Chairman of the Regional Administration for the Central Executive of the All-Indonesian Equestrian Sports Association (Pordasi) of South Sumatra when opening the 2021 Showjumping Challenge. According to HD, to introduce equestrian sport to the public requires various efforts.
“Currently 3D Stable Gandus, supported by the South Sumatra Provincial Government, is increasingly aggressive in introducing equestrian sports. Starting from the availability of adequate facilitation and trainers imported from outside South Sumatra to making. This is the first time in the city of Palembang a horse race has been held,” said HD.
HD hopes that this competition will produce equestrian athletes who are ready to compete in national and even international competitions.
The Chairperson and owner of 3D Stable Ratu, Tenny Leriva HD, said that the reason for this competition was to introduce recreational equestrian sports for the general public and to grow new breeds of high-achieving equestrian who are ready for the upcoming 2024 PON.
Chairperson of Pordasi Firdasi Triwati Marciano said the vision and mission conveyed by the Daily Chair of Fordasi, may it be realized so that to compete to represent South Sumatra in PON 2025 are original athletes from South Sumatra.
The competition was attended by participants from South Sumatra, Jambi and Pekanbaru with various classes.
