Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru opened as well as being the keynote speaker for the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) “South Sumatra Diorama as a Regional Collective Memory”.
A diorama is a kind of miniature three
dimensions to describe a scene or a scene.
“We need to agree that in this FGD the speakers can convey information frankly without any offense to any party. At the same time discuss various history in South Sumatra such as the formation of the government is also about the Sriwijaya Kingdom,” he said.
HD urges people who have documentation or records related to history in South Sumatra to also participate in providing this information to the South Sumatra Provincial Government through the Archives Service.
Besides that, HD hopes that there will also be discussions and publications on the history of pempek in South Sumatra. This is to confirm that Pempek has officially come from Palembang after being legally registered by him at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
“We also need to patent various clothing and
food from South Sumatra to become a legacy of local wisdom for the next generation,” he said.
The Head of the Indonesian Archives was represented by the Deputy for Archives Conservation of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Kandar, M.AP., appreciated the archival organization in South Sumatra which had received a very good predicate. In addition, appreciation because South Sumatra is the second province after Yogyakarta to take the initiative to build a Diorama.
The Head of the South Sumatra Archives, Prof. Edwar Juliartha, said that this activity was carried out to equalize perceptions related to issues and interests in dioramas. Besides that, it is also to gather input in making dioramas throughout South Sumatra in order to create a learning society with character and culture. (mhn/ril)
