HD: ‘The Existence of Islamic Boarding Schools, Supports the Government to Improve the Life of the Nation’

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru conveyed that the Wali Songo Islamic Boarding School activities held a grand recitation in order to welcome 100 Years of NU which provided extraordinary meaning and benefits because they could stay in touch not only with the community but also with the ulama.

“The existence of Islamic boarding schools in South Sumatra is extraordinary because they support the government in developing human resources (HR). These Islamic boarding schools participate in educating the nation’s life. Because there are doctrines other than science but also inculcating religious knowledge,” he explained.

This means that, continued Herman Deru, Islamic boarding schools have a higher moral burden than other public schools. “So don’t be surprised if Islamic boarding school alumni have more value in religious knowledge,” he said.

Herman Deru admits why he is so concerned about Islamic boarding schools. Because he wanted Islamic boarding schools to form a competitive spirit. This means that from the teaching process, each Islamic boarding school has an advantage.

“This is one of the duties of Islamic boarding schools, to highlight the science of education which is not the same as other Islamic boarding schools. So there is diversity in education but does not violate the rules of education itself,” said Herman Deru.

In addition, HD asked the recently appointed Management Council of Mubaligh and Mubalighoh to become an association in exchanging ideas and knowledge on future conditions.

Meanwhile the Chief Executive, KH Imam Muarif thanked Governor Herman Deru for being here. This Islamic boarding school has been established for about 9 years but currently there are no dormitories. So he hopes for Governor Herman Deru’s support and attention so he can help build a hostel. (mhn/bbs)
