Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru attended and opened a Forum Group Discussion (FGD) regarding the Formulation of Policies for Handling Illegal Drilling organized by the Directorate of Corruption Criminal Investigation of the National Police.
The theme of the FGD is Harmonization of State, Regional, Business Players and Community Interests related to the Formulation of Policies for Handling Illegal Drilling in a Legal, Economic, SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) Perspective. and Socio-Cultural. This event was initiated by cooperation between the National Police Task Force and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Directorate General of Oil and Gas
HD said that illegal drilling is probably what we have to map first, at least it doesn’t increase either, in Musi Banyuasin more than 7,700 have been detected, maybe there are now more than 8,000. We thank the Task Force for initiating this. In South Sumatra, there are 4 districts with the potential for illegal drilling in Muba, Pali, Muratara and Muara Enim,” said HD.
Continued HD, We must act to unite all of our powers to make this so that it is safe for humans as well as prosperous for its society.
“I hope we can really fix this illegal drilling, but don’t put aside our goals for the welfare of the community” said HD
Meanwhile, Deputy Head of the Special Police Corruption Prevention Task Force Novel Baswedan said this was a first step, where we also know that the Governor of South Sumatra Herman Deru has paid special attention.
“Hopefully this will involve all stake holders, this problem cannot be solved by one party, that’s why we are holding this FGD. Thank you for the presence of the governor who has agreed to attend,” said Novel.
Novel added, illegal drilling is one of the problems in the oil and gas sub-sector which is currently still a challenge for the government. To overcome this illegal drilling, the Government formed a Task Force Team for Handling Illegal Oil and Gas Activities. (mhn/ril)
