Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru (HD) appealed to the people of South Sumatra not to worry about information about the scarcity of cooking oil currently circulating in the community.
According to him, the South Sumatra Provincial Government through the Trade Office will ensure the availability of these basic commodities because South Sumatra itself is one of the areas that has the largest oil palm plantations in Indonesia.
“Citizens don’t worry, the provincial government will guarantee its availability. However, we also urge the public not to use cooking oil excessively, just as necessary,” HD said during a Friday prayer safari.
HD continued, the scarcity of staples often occurs, especially in the face of the holy month of Ramadan. But of course the South Sumatra Provincial Government has taken steps to anticipate this.
On the occasion of the Friday prayer safari, HD also provided assistance for the repair of the Nurul Iman mosque in the amount of Rp. 90 million. Used for the cost of casting poles and the top floor of the mosque which is currently unfinished. (ojn/ril)
