Herman Deru Encourages Vaccination for Inmates of South Sumatra

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru supports and encourages the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) of the Province of South Sumatra in Submitting General Remissions and Providing Vaccines for Correctional Inmates (WBP). He said this when he received the Head of the South Sumatra Province Kemenkumham Office, Indro Purwoko and his staff.

According to Herman Deru, it is important to administer the vaccine for the inmates immediately, not only to avoid danger to themselves but also to avoid the family who wants to visit.

Therefore, in the process of implementing the vaccine, Herman Deru will instruct the South Sumatra Health Office to encourage these activities so that they can run smoothly, especially for overcrowded prisons.

“I have instructed the South Sumatra Health Office to encourage this implementation. This means that the inmates are prioritized, because it is for the benefit of them and their families who will visit,” he said.

This includes the Submission of General Remissions for inmates, where Governor Herman Deru is willing to submit remissions to coincide with the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17th.

Meanwhile, the Head of the South Sumatra Province Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Indro Purwoko, thanked Governor Herman Deru for encouraging the provision of vaccines for inmates, including the submission of general remissions. (mhn/ril)
