Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Governor of South Sumatra (Sumsel) Herman Deru participated in a Video Conference (Vicon) with the National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo and the TNI Commander Agus Subiyanto and related agencies in order to monitor the security and public order situation (Sitkamtibmas) on the eve of takbiran before Eid al-Fitr 1447 H. The activity took place at the South Sumatra DPRD yard, Friday (20/3/2026).

In his directive, National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasized the importance of evaluating recent incidents, particularly those related to obstacles on several toll roads that had hampered public traffic. He requested immediate follow-up on these issues and ensured that service posts were fully prepared.

The National Police Chief also appreciated the performance of the ranks, especially the National Police Traffic Corps, in implementing traffic engineering and providing services for the homecoming and return flow this year, which were considered better than the previous year.

According to him, the success of securing the homecoming travel was the result of synergy between all stakeholders involved. The event continued with an interactive dialogue between the National Police Chief and regional police officials across Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Governor Herman Deru said that this activity was a joint evaluation step towards conditions in each region, including South Sumatra.

He invited all parties to continue maintaining regional conduciveness, and conveyed his welcome to travelers passing through or making South Sumatra their destination.

“Thank God, the homecoming traffic in South Sumatra is running smoothly. This momentum is expected to further strengthen the synergy between the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) and all relevant parties in maintaining security and strengthening the already strong ties and cooperation,” he said.

Also in attendance were South Sumatra Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) Speaker Andie Dinialdie, Sriwijaya Military Commander II/Ujang Darwis, South Sumatra Police Chief Shandi Nugroho, Palembang Mayor Ratu Dewa, South Sumatra Regional Secretary Edward Candra, heads of South Sumatra Regional Government Organizations (OPD), and other relevant officials.
