Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru, closed the Governor’s Cup for the Inter-Regional Government Organization (OPD) Football Championship and officially opened the South Sumatra U-15 Governor’s Cup held at the Bumi Sriwijaya Stadium (Friday, 6/20/2025).
In his remarks, Herman Deru expressed his pride in the success of the inter-OPD tournament which ran smoothly without incident. The tournament which brought together employees from different agencies was considered a good event to strengthen friendships as well as foster work enthusiasm and sportsmanship among employees.
“What we learn from this tournament is not only victory, but also closer friendship and solidarity. This will have a positive impact on the work ethic within the South Sumatra Provincial Government,” said Herman Deru.
The inter-OPD tournament produced a total of 97 goals. As promised, the Governor gave a bonus of IDR 500,000 for each goal scored, as a form of appreciation for the enthusiasm and passion of the participants.
When opening the U-15 Football Championship throughout South Sumatra. He said that this tournament is part of his commitment to recruiting and developing superior regional football seeds.
“Our goal in organizing the U-15 Governor’s Cup is our commitment to produce professional players who can later defend Sriwijaya FC and Sumsel United,” said HD.
To increase the spirit of competition, Herman Deru also provided a stimulus of Rp200,000 per goal scored in this U-15 tournament.
“I advise the referees to maintain fair play during the match. Let’s produce a generation of tough football athletes who will make South Sumatra proud,” he said.
HD also asked the South Sumatra Youth and Sports Service (Dispora) so that tournaments like this are not only held for the anniversary, but become routine activities with various sports.
Furthermore, HD handed over the Trophy to the Winning Clubs of the Inter-OPD Football Championship. Where the first place was won by RSUD Siti Fatimah. (rys/ril)
