Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru, inaugurated the operation of the Grid Extension to increase the voltage of electricity services in Kenten Laut Village, Banyuasin Regency, Tuesday (28/4/2026).
This inauguration is a manifestation of the commitment of the South Sumatra Provincial Government together with PLN to improve the quality of electricity services for the community, especially in the Banyuasin Regency area.
“The government, through PLN, responded to these electricity complaints by swiftly operating the Grid Extension. This was the result of direct communication, ensuring that this electricity demand could not be delayed, as electricity is a fundamental necessity for the lives of the Banyuasin community,” said HD.
HD also advised the public to maintain the facilities provided, especially the electrical installations, and to pay electricity bills on time.
“We appreciate and thank PLN for the support and easy facilities provided to the residents of Banyuasin and the people of South Sumatra in general,” said HD.
Meanwhile, Banyuasin Regent H. Askolani said that the PLN network that has now been expanded will further improve services to the Banyuasin community.
“We thank the Governor because, following his instructions to PLN, construction began immediately and the power was turned on immediately. While blackouts used to be frequent, now the public can enjoy electricity according to their usage standards,” said Askolani.
On the same occasion, GM of PLN UID S2JB, Diksi Erfani Umar, conveyed his impressions since first serving in South Sumatra, seeing a leader who was humanistic and really cared about his citizens.
“The Governor has always emphasized that electricity is a vital component in development and the economic life of the people, so it must always be available to the people of South Sumatra,” he said.
At the end of the event, the East Village Inscription was signed as a symbol of the inauguration and commitment to sustainable development.
