The Indonesia Post – Mayor of Subulussalam H. Affan Alfian said he was not allergic to criticism from the public, including journalists. He said this during a friendly meeting with journalist institutions in the city of Subulussalam, at the vidcon hall of the Mayor of Subulussalam, Wednesday (13/1/2021).
The criticism conveyed by the community towards his leadership performance is a whip to evaluate the performance to be better and progress, he said. Every criticism that is conveyed against his government will be evaluated by his staff for improvement so that the governance of the government is better, he concluded.
Journalists as a profession in writing news certainly correspond to balanced facts, of course officials in their ranks must be more responsive in responding to every member of the press asking for confirmation every time there is a problem in his institution, which is his hope in the future, he added.
The presence of journalist institutions is the government’s partner in providing development information to the public. He also appreciated and expressed his gratitude to the head of the journalist institution and its members who have disseminated information on the development of the City of Subulussalam through printed or electronic media, he said.
Regarding the Journalist Competency Test (UKW) on the suggestion of a journalist, the Mayor is very supportive and ready to provide financial assistance so that Subulussalam City journalists have certificates as a form of concern for journalists, he added.

In his report, MM stated that the Mayor’s friendly meeting with journalist institutions throughout the City of Subulussalam in order to improve effective communication and build to create an informative City of Subulussalam, he said.
The role of journalists in the City of Subulussalam together with the press in it really helps the government in providing dissemination of information on the development of the City of Subulussalam, without it of course information about the City of Subulussalam doesn’t touch all the corners of the country, he said.
The king also reminded that there are members of the press who have not joined the existing press institutions. He also suggested that they form a press agency or join existing members, he asked.
On that occasion the Mayor also gave awards to 7 (seven) media institutions in the City of Subulussalam for their support in providing information on the development of the City of Subulussalam.

Affan Alfian presented the award accompanied by Kadis Kominfo Baginda, First, it was given to Indonesian Journalist Association (PWI) which was received by Khalidin, secondly, PWRI was received by Jaulim Saraan, third, Perwako was received by Alimsyah Sembiring, fourth, AWNI was received by Maharudin Maha, fifth, IJTI was received Erdian, sixth, AJI received by Roni and seventh, IWO was received by Satria Tumangger.
