Police finalize Mandalika MotoGP security readiness

Praya, The Indonesia Post – The Police of Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) held a focus group discussion (FGD) in order to prepare for the security of the MotoGP racing event at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit.

Central Lombok Police Chief AKBP Hery Indra Cahyono, in Praya, Saturday, said that this activity really needed to be carried out to equalize perceptions and technical tasks in the field to ensure the security and smooth running of the Pertamina Grand Prix Of Indonesia.

“We have implemented security in previous events, such as during the WSBK and MotoGP pre-season. We still need this FGD to convey the technicalities in the field so that the MotoGP event runs safely and smoothly,” he also said.

For personnel, equipment and vehicles that will be used when securing the MotoGP event has been prepared long ago. In addition, his party has also carried out field checks for the preparation of security posts and security points in the Mandalika SEZ area.

“Essentially, we have prepared personnel, equipment and vehicles that will later be used during the security of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia,” he said.

In addition to preparing security, the Central Lombok Police continue to vaccinate residents to reach the target before the Pertamina Grand Prix Of Indonesia MotoGP 2022 event on March 18-20, 2022.

To increase the vaccination target, his party together with the TNI and the local government always invite residents to vaccinate with various innovations such as the vaccination team visiting people’s houses door to door and several public service places.

“Vaccination is carried out to prevent and suppress the spread of COVID-19 and is very important to increase herd immunity,” he said.

The Central Lombok Police Chief also said that currently the achievement of dose one vaccination has reached 91 percent of the 100 percent target. As for the second dose, it has reached 75 percent of the 80 percent target before MotoGP.

“In addition to dose one and dose two, the Central Lombok Police also continues to intensify the vaccination for the third or booster dose,” he said. (mhn/bbs)
