Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Legislative Council (DPRD) of South Sumatra Province and the Governor of South Sumatra finally agreed on the General Budget Policy (KUA) and the Priorities and Temporary Budget Ceiling (PPAS) for the Regional Budget (APBD) of South Sumatra Province for the 2024 Fiscal Year (TA), this was stated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Legislature and the Executive at the Meeting Plenary LXV (65), Monday (24/07/2023).
The Plenary Session was chaired by the Chairperson of the DPRD Prov. South Sumatra; Hj. RA, Anita Noeringhati, SH, MH, accompanied by Deputy Chairperson of the Prov. DPRD. South Sumatra; Hj. Kartika Sandra Desi, SH, MM and H. Muchendi M, SE, attended by the Governor of South Sumatra; H. Herman Deru, SH, MM and Regional Secretary; Ir. S.A. Supriono, OPD Representatives and other invited guests.

The Plenary Begins with the Speech of the Chairman of the DPRD Prov. South Sumatra, which conveyed the background of the discussion and the Points of Discussion Results of KUA and PPAS APBD Prov. South Sumatra FY 2024, as follows:
Discussion on the Draft KUA and PPAS APBD Prov. Sumsel FY 2024, carried out by the Budget Agency (Banggar) DPRD Prov. Sumsel with the Prov. Regional Government Budget Team (TAPD). South Sumatra and the Prov. Inspectorate. Sumsel as the Government Internal Monitoring Apparatus (APIP) from 10 to 12 July 2023, then continued with the Prov. DPRD Commissions Meeting. Sumsel with Partners/OPD Prov. Sumsel to obtain input on the programs and activities in the KUA draft and the 2024 TA PPAS draft from 13 to 20 July 2023.
Furthermore, the follow-up meeting of the Banggar, TAPD, together with the leaders of the Prov. Commissions and Inspectorate. Sumsel as APIP discussed the synchronization report on the KUA Draft and the PPAS APBD Prov. Sumsel FY 2024 on 21 to 22 July 2023.
From the results of the discussion of the KUA and PPAS for the 2024 FY, the Prov. It was agreed that in the 2024 FY of South Sumatra it was Rp. 11,239,120,882,628.00, an increase of Rp. 361,365,821,216.00 or 3.32% compared to the 2023 Fiscal Year Budget, which was Rp. 10,877,755,061,412.00. The details are as follows:
A. Regional Revenue.
Regional revenues in the APBD for Fiscal Year 2024 amounted to IDR 10,949,809,805,940.00 There was an increase of IDR 205,273,484,540.00 or 1.91% compared to the 2023 APBD of IDR 10,744,536,321,400.00.
B. Regional Expenditures
Regional spending for the 2024 Fiscal Year amounted to IDR 11,100,120,882,628.00, an increase of IDR 588,365,821,216.00 or 5.60% when compared to regional spending for the 2023 FY of IDR 10,511,755,061,412.00.
C. Regional Financing
1. Receipt of Financing
In the 2024 Fiscal Year Rp. 289,311,076,688.00, an increase of Rp. 156,092,336,676.00 or 117.17% when compared to the 2023 fiscal year of Rp. 133,218,740,012.00.
4. Financing Expenses
In the 2024 Fiscal Year Rp. 139,000,000,000.00 decreased by IDR 227,000,000,000.00 or 62.02% when compared to the 2023 Fiscal Year of IDR 366,000,000,000.00
After remarks from the Chairperson of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD, it was followed by the procession of signing a Memorandum of Understanding by the Leaders of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD and the Governor of South Sumatra.
Meanwhile the Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru, delivered a speech which essentially explained briefly the contents of the agreement that had been signed. In addition, he also expressed his gratitude for the good cooperation and partnership between the executive and the legislature.
“Hopefully this partnership can accelerate the realization of our common goals,” he hoped.
The Plenary Meeting ended with a joint prayer as a form of gratitude and hope that the results of the agreement would have a positive impact and progress for the Province of South Sumatra in the future. (ojn/ril)
