South Sumatra Legislative Council Chairperson Attends the Opening of the VII South Sumatra Real Estate Indonesia (REI) Regional Working Meeting

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Chairperson of the Legislative Council (DPRD) of South Sumatra Province, Mrs. Hj. R.A. Anita Noeringhati, SH., MH., attended the opening ceremony of the VII South Sumatra Indonesian Real Estate (REI) Regional Work Meeting (Rakerda) which took place at the Novotel Palembang Ballroom on Wednesday, May 24 2023. In this event, the main attention was focused on REI’s role in overcoming the housing backlog in South Sumatra.

The housing backlog is one of the important indicators used by the government to measure housing needs in Indonesia. This is reflected in the Strategic Plan (Renstra) and the Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN) relating to the housing sector. With the housing backlog, the government is trying to find a solution to reduce the gap between housing demand and availability in South Sumatra.

R.A. Anita underlined the important role of REI in overcoming the housing backlog in the province. He expressed his appreciation for the presence of the Governor of South Sumatra, Mr. H. Herman Deru, Secretary General of DPP REI, Mr. Hari Gani, Chairman of DPD REI South Sumatra, Mr. Zewwy Salim, and Deputy Mayor of Palembang, Mrs. Fitrianti Agustinda, who were also present at the event.

She stressed the need for cooperation between the government and the property industry, represented by REI, to find solutions and steps to overcome these problems.

“Hopefully REI can be actively involved in housing programs that are being implemented by the provincial government,” she hoped.

Meanwhile, the Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru appreciated REI’s commitment in assisting the government in completing the housing backlog in South Sumatra. The importance of building affordable and quality housing for the people of South Sumatra.

“Rei South Sumatra’s VII Regional Working Meeting is expected to be a productive forum for the community,” he concluded. (ojn/ril)
