South Sumatra Legislative Council Chairperson Breaks Fasting Rule with Members at His Official Residence

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Chairperson of the South Sumatra Legislative Council (DPRD), Andie Dinialdie, together with the Chairperson of the South Sumatra DPRD IKATRI, Noeke Angraini, held a gathering and broke the fast together at his official residence on Jalan Demang Lebar Daun, Palembang City, Saturday (8/3/2025).

Present at the event were members of the South Sumatra DPRD and their wives, the Secretary of the South Sumatra DPRD and staff, the former Chairman of the South Sumatra DPRD who is currently a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives HM Giri Ramanda Kiemas and other community components.

The event was opened with the reading of the Holy Quran by Muhamad Afdal Qorik, a disabled person from Palembang City, which created a silent atmosphere. Afdal himself was deliberately presented in order to provide an opportunity for the disabled people of South Sumatra to take part in various events in South Sumatra. Previously, the chairman of the South Sumatra DPRD, Andie Dinialdie, had also invited the disabled people of South Sumatra to visit his official residence.

“We deliberately invited all of you to visit and break the fast together. Thank you for your presence. I know that in the midst of our busy schedules as representatives of the people, you can still make time to attend our invitation,” said Andi Dinialdie.

The chairman of the South Sumatra Golkar Party DPD hopes that this kind of visitation event will often be held by members of the South Sumatra DPRD in the midst of their busy schedules. Moreover, this moment was held in the blessed fasting month. He hopes that this kind of tradition will also be held by other council members. To the invited guests who attended personally and his family, Andi apologized for any mistakes and errors that were made.

Meanwhile, Ustad Iskandar who was appointed as the speaker at this event, revealed that the silaturrahim carried out by the chairman of the South Sumatra DPRD was highly recommended in Islamic teachings, especially during the month of Ramadan. In his short sermon, Iskandar reminded the invited guests to respect their parents and not be rude to them. He said that hurting parents by being rude to them is one of the four sins that will not be forgiven by Allah in the month of Ramadan.

“There are four sins that will not be forgiven in the fasting month even though this is a month full of forgiveness. The four are, khamar (drugs) and the like, being rude to parents, people who break off silaturrahim and people whose hearts are full of hatred,” said Ustad Iskandar while ending his sermon with a prayer.
