HD Asks Regent to Maintain Stability of Staple Food Prices During Ramadhan in OKI Regency

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru (HD) accompanied by the Chairperson of the TP PKK of South Sumatra Province, Hj. Feby Herman Deru together with the Deputy Governor of South Sumatra, H. Cik Ujang and his wife, Hj. Lidyawati Cik Ujang carried out the 1446H/2025M Ramadan Safari with the Forkopimda of South Sumatra Province in Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) Regency. Taking place at the Pendopoan of the OKI Regent’s Official Residence (Saturday, 8/3/2025).

In his remarks, HD said that the purpose of the Ramadan Safari was to establish friendship and to see firsthand the conditions of the OKI Regency community in carrying out fasting during the month of Ramadan.

“In addition, we can also use this activity to align perceptions of policy direction between the Provincial and Regency/City governments,” said HD.

HD also asked the OKI Regency Government to really maintain the price of basic necessities to remain stable by paying attention to supply and maintaining the availability of basic necessities during the month of Ramadan until the Eid al-Fitr celebration.

“Don’t let the supply be unavailable and don’t let there be price spikes so that we can see the community celebrating Eid with great happiness,” said HD.

Not to forget, HD also said that for people who are going home for Eid, they can take advantage of the free homecoming service provided by the South Sumatra Provincial Government every year.

On that occasion, HD also provided assistance to orphans in the form of basic necessities and compensation money.

Meanwhile, the Regent of OKI, Muchendi Mahzareki, S.E., M.Si was very grateful for the presence of the Governor and Deputy Governor along with the officials of the South Sumatra Forkopimda in OKI Regency.

“This is an honor for us to be visited by all of you. We are happy that the Governor and his entourage can come to our place, because with today’s activities we can strengthen our ties,” he said.

In addition, he also hopes that the Governor of South Sumatra can help the OKI Regency Government in improving the infrastructure in OKI Regency.
