Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Chairperson of the South Sumatra Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD) Dr Hj RA Anita Noeringhati SH MH paid a working visit to PT Hutama Karya (Persero) at the Hutama Karya Meeting Room, 3rd Floor, Cawang Tower, DKI Jakarta, Thursday (4/07/2024).
Anita NoeringHati explained that her arrival was in the context of monitoring and progress of the Kayu Agung – Palembang-Betung (Betung ship) toll road.
In this meeting, the chairman of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD was received by the EVP of the Toll Road Planning Division, Iwan Heramawan, accompanied by the VP of the Toll Road Planning Division, Dhono Nugroho and his staff.
Hutama Karya, as explained in a hearing with Commission XI DPR RI in Jakarta on July 2, submitted a request for State Capital Participation (PMN) of IDR 1 trillion. In the future, these funds will be used to complete the construction of the Palembang-Betung Toll Road section which is part of the Kayu Agung-Palembang-Betung (Kapal Betung) Toll Road.
It was explained that these funds were needed as capital to improve the capital structure and increase the company’s capacity to continue implementing the assignment to build the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) which is included in the National Strategic Project (PSN).
“The request for PMN for the 2024 Fiscal Year from the Investment Reserve for Hutama Karya is IDR 1 trillion which will be allocated for the Palembang – Betung Toll Road,”.
Previously, HK had received 2024 PMN amounting to IDR 13.42 trillion to help complete the Trans Sumatra toll road. However, these funds are not sufficient for the total needs of IDR 15.47 trillion.
Therefore, his party has again proposed PMN 2024 period 2 amounting to IDR 1 trillion to continue construction of the Palembang-Betung Toll Road. Previously, the toll road was being worked on by PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk, which is currently still in the restructuring process.
“This toll road was previously carried out by Waskita. “Because Waskita is in financial structuring steps, it was handed over to HK,” he explained.
Apart from that, the existence of the Palembang-Betung Toll Road is very important to improve the connectivity of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road from Bakauheni to Jambi.
Not only does it make travel easier, the existence of this toll road can cut travel time and logistics transportation costs. In fact, the presence of the toll road will increase the potential for fiscal revenue and be able to increase labor absorption.
He also confirmed that this section is targeted to be completed in the third quarter of 2025. “The Palembang-Betung section is targeted for completion in the third quarter of 2025 with indications of the feasibility of an internal rate of return (IRR) of 6.77 percent,” he explained. (ojn/ril)
