Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Chairperson of the South Sumatra Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD), Andie Dinialdie opened the XI Plenary Session of the South Sumatra Provincial People’s Representative Council (DPRD) in the South Sumatra DPRD Plenary Session Room, Monday (3/24/2025).
The XI plenary session led directly by the Chairman of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD Andie Dinialdie, with the agenda of submitting the Accountability Statement Report (LKPJ) for the 2024 Fiscal Year by the Governor of South Sumatra (Sumsel) H Herman Deru accompanied by the Deputy Governor (Wagub) H Cik Ujang.
In his LKPJ, Governor Herman Deru said that by the end of 2024, the economic growth of South Sumatra Province had grown to 5.03%, exceeding the national achievement of 4.95%.
“We ask for the support and cooperation of all of us so that the achievements of South Sumatra Development can be realized to achieve South Sumatra Continuously Advancing for All,” he said.
Meanwhile, for the Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) of South Sumatra Province for the 2024 Fiscal Year, Herman Deru continued, in August 2024 it reached 3.86%, decreasing from 2023 which was 4.11% and this figure is better than the National TPT figure of 4.91% in the same year.
“The poverty rate in September 2024 was 10.97%, down 0.81% from 2023 which was 11.78%. The Human Development Index in 2024 was 73.84 points, in the high category. This figure increased from 2023 which was 73.18 points,” he said.
Meanwhile, regarding regional inflation in 2024, Herman Deru continued, it was 1.20%, this figure is better than the national figure of 1.57%.
“In 2024, there are seven Leading Work Programs, including Acceleration of Completion of National Strategic Projects, Acceleration of Food Improvement and Stabilization of Food Supply and Prices, Acceleration of Plantation Crops Improvement, Development of BUMD and Financing of MSME Businesses,
Acceleration of Transportation and Regional Development and Acceleration of Improving Governance Strengthening of Legislation,” he said.
Herman Deru acknowledged that 2024 is a transition phase and the first year of the implementation of the South Sumatra Provincial Regional Development Plan (RPD) for 2024-2026. In the first year of the RPD, we have achieved many achievements and development successes.
Throughout 2024, South Sumatra Province has won 36 awards, 13 in the field of Governance, 5 in the Economic Field, 6 in the Infrastructure Field, 3 in the Human Resources Field, 2 in the Environmental Field and 7 in the Socio-Cultural Field.
“On this good occasion, we convey our high appreciation and gratitude to the Honorable Chairperson, Deputy Chairpersons, and Members of the Council, all levels of the Regency/City Government and all parties, both individuals, community leaders, religious leaders, press personnel, and groups or representatives from elements of South Sumatra society and political parties, for their full support and excellent cooperation to build South Sumatra,” he said.
